The current study aimed to know the effect of formative assessment to the manners of information treatment to the third year secondary school students in laghouat, and to verify the purposes of this study we have prepared a practical guide to the philosophy teacher in order to apply the formative assessment and construct the controlling task of the information treatment levels ( the surface level, the deep level, the very deep level ), this was submitted to validity and stability so that it gave an accepted results.

The sample of the study consiste of (32) male and female students.

The experimental method; with one group design of pre-post test, was adopted and the use of "T'' test to connected samples, and "T" test to dependent and independent samples in order to count the difference between degrees of sub-examination ( exam of the surface level, exam of the deep level, exam of the very deep level ).

The results of the study has revealed that there is a difference between degrees of pre-post test dimensions according to the student of experimental group at the level of the surface information treatment to the side of later dimensions.

The difference also excited between degrees of pre-post test dimensions to student of experimental group at the level of deep and very deep information treatment to the side of later dimensions.

Also there was an effect of the formative assessment at the level of information treatment to the third year secondary school students of literature and philosophy section that led to nonexistence of differences between each level (the surface, the deep, the very deep ) in the later dimension.
