Abstract EN

The research deals with the linguistic thought as conceived by the ancient Arabs in its phonetic, lexical, grammatical and semantic levels.

It states that the levels simply express the content of the thought of the Arab individual.

Thus these levels are characterized by a great extent of precision, organization and rigor.

It proves that the relation between language and thought is a reciprocal and integral one.

It is reciprocal because each one affects the other; it is integral because each one needs the other.

Language serves thought in that it helps man to express his thought and brings it into being.

Thus the idea turns into an object of communication.
