Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of least-to-most procedure to teach the purchasing skill to schoolgirls with mild mental disabilities and then to maintain and generalize it.

The experimental method was employed in this study.

The study sample comprised (6) schoolgirls with mild mental disabilities who joined the integrating program in the sixth primary school at Khamis Mushait governorate aged between 8 and 12 years.

The schoolgirls were taught the purchasing skill by applying the least-to- most procedure.

Design (AB) was used also which is one of the methods used in the (single subject designs).

The results showed that there is a functional and positive relationship between teaching using least-to-most procedure and acquiring the purchasing skill by the schoolgirls with mild mental disabilities, where all schoolgirls acquired the purchasing skill during the intervention phase.

They were also able to retain this skill.

Moreover, this strategy helped them to generalize the purchasing skill, and the generalization skill ratio reached 77%-100%.
