Abstract EN

This study is concerned with the judgment of Shari‘a (Islamic Law) about using dyes.

It starts with a preface about the judgment of hair plucking and an account of those who first became white-haired.

Then it is divided into parts covering the themes of the study: a definition of dyeing, an account of those who first used coloring dyes, whether it was proven that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) used dyes, which is better: altering white hair or not, what color can be used for hair dyeing, the judgment of dyeing gray hair with black, red, yellow or other colors, the judgment of dyeing hands and feet, the judgment of using dyes by the mourning woman, the woman in ‘idda (a waiting period during which a widow or a divorcee may not remarry), the menstruating woman and the Muhrim (Mecca pilgrim who is in a state of ritual consecration), and the judgment of dyeing black hair.
