Abstract EN

This study aims at discovering and presenting the statistics on Arab publications products as one of the projects of electronic book publishing in Jordan.

The study aimed to analyse the productivity indicators of authors, subjects, publishers, as well as the most productive periods .

This required listing of the published books on the web site from the starting date of the project in 2006 till the end of 2014.

Books were sortedaccording to the Anglo- American Cataloguing Rules, 2ndedition, in order to apply the bibliomertric analysis on them.

It was found that the database has 1360books.

The most productive author was Ahmed Abdullateef Mustafa Al-Jadaa with 26 books and the most productive period of publishing was between 2006 and 2010 whichproduced 726 books in the project.

The literary and poetic books were the most published ones on the web site, whereas authors themselves were the most frequent publishers of books.

That is why the project of publication product representsa golden opportunity for publishing.

Thestudy identified deficiencies in the project’s web site, as it is not possible to search the website by author’s name, or subject and is not possible to find out the total number of publications registered on the site.There are also difficulties in research and recall in a way that requires following –up of the site and concern about it in media and circulation of the project in a better way in order to encourage authors to publish and avoid the problem of traditional publishing and other problems that go with it, to comply with the requirements of modern age and try to make available the Jordanian books internationally and in the Arab Word.
