Abstract EN

The global financial system witnessed in 2008, on A major financial and banking crisis, lead up to the collapse of many global banks, that’s prompting members of the Basel Conference to adopt a new package of laws on 12 September 2010, known as Basel III standards.

Which aims to establish supervisory control frameworks in order to prevent banks from being exposed to other crises, and increase the supervisory controls on these banks and to limit the perversion of banking laws and regulations.

From its side, the Bank of Algeria has assume a series of banking reforms to respond at the requirements of the Basel III Committee, in order to realize an effective supervisory control, enhancing the ability of the banking system to detect early deterioration in banks' performance and to take preventive measures which prevent them from falling into crises and bankruptcy.
