Abstract EN

There are areas in the study area not too bad of natural forests and tracts of planted forests, by climatic and human factors in the study area, in this research, we tried to statement the geographical distribution of these forests by both pattern natural and grown in the study area, based on the basis of spatial, through statement percentage distribution of these spaces at the level of the districts of the study area and at the level of the study area as a whole, also statement as well as the distribution of planted forest area ratios in the study area, according to the above, we divided this research into three main points, for definition the forests and its reality in the study area, distribution of its area according to the spatial scale (at the level of districts within the study area and at the county level), as well as the breakdown of forest areas by forest type (natural and planted).

One of the main conclusions of the research is that natural forest pattern is often pattern in the study area, which accounted (98.6%) of the total forest area in the study area.

as well as the percentage (22.2%) of the total area of the Erbil Governorate is a forest (21.9% natural and 0.3% planted), and focus the forest most areas in the district, in the mountainous region of the study area.
