Abstract EN

This research aims to identify the level of professionalism of the faculty members of the College of Basic Education at the University of Duhok from the perspective of its students, and to detect the significance of the differences in their views about the professionalism of their teachers depending on the variables of gender, grade and area of study.

The study sample consisted of (240) students (of both genders) who were selected from six academic departments in the College of Basic Education.

The research depended on an already developed questionnaire by (Eisa and Naqa, 2009) which consists of (61) paragraph, and covers five areas of professional performance.

By using the t-test and the one-way analysis of variance using statistical methods, the results showed that the professional competence level is low among faculty members in the College of Basic Education from the perspective of students, and the results showed a lack of significant differences in the views of the students about the professionalism of the faculty members attributed for gender, grade and area of study.

In light of those findings, the researcher presented some recommendations.
