Abstract EN

This research aims to measure the Phillips Curve in the Iraqi economy by measuring and analyzing the relationship between inflation and unemployment rates in the Iraqi economy for the period (2015-1988) and then determine the mechanism through the Phillips curve to address the problems of unemployment and inflation in the Iraqi economy.

There is no doubt that the Iraqi economy is suffering from the presence of high rates of unemployment and inflation, and behind them are several factors resulted in the many risks reflected negatively on the Iraqi society and led to a waste of human, natural and financial resources in Iraq.

Search and assume that the inflation problem is not the only problem plaguing the Iraqi economy during the period of research, but is haunted with the recession as well as reduce employment rates and economic growth.

The worsening of the unemployment problem in the Iraqi economy was the result of war and the destruction of economic infrastructure, and a lack of foreign investment due to stop economic development plans and focus only on the security side only, in addition to adopting policies of privatization and opening to the outside world suddenly and unannounced.

The monetary policy indirect impact in reducing inflation in the Iraqi economy through exchange rate signal installer initial prices, as inflation fell from (21.4%) in 1988 to 2.3% in 2015, which provided strong opportunities for economic stability and reduce rates of increase in the general price level.
