Abstract EN

This research deals with the relations between the Kingdom of Yemen in Sana'a represented by Imam Yahya bin Mohammed Hamaid al-Din and Britain in Aden since the end of World War I in 1918.

At that time, relations have become tense between the two sides since the English seized the Hodeida port which was under the control of Imam Yahya in northern Yemen.

In order to regain the port, Imam demanded the British in Aden to grant him his "historical right ,"i.e ,.the control over the South of Yemen and regain Aden and its neighboring areas to his property.

Britain did not recognize this claim, sometimes using military force against him, and at other times the diplomatic negotiations until the conflict ended after the two parties signed the Cooperation and Friendship Treaty in 1934.
