Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the level of awareness of student teachers, enrolled in a program of Special Education, Faculty of Education, of the dangers of abusing children with special needs.

Besides, it attempted to investigate the effect of a counseling program on developing awareness of student teachers of the dangers of abusing children with special needs.

The study was conducted on a basic sampling of 164.

The number of experimental sample was 40 students who were divided into groups: (experimental group 10 male students and 10 female students) and control group (10 male students and 10 female students).

The tools of the study included the student teachers' awareness of abusing children with special needs scale (by the researchers).

The results showed statistically significant differences on all dimensions of the scale between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group.

The study concluded that the counseling program TO development student teachers' awareness of the dangers of abusing children with special needs was effective.
