This research aims to identify the self-confidence and achievement motivation of defaulters students at the University of Hail, To achieve this goal the researcher used the descriptive approach Correlative where total sample size of 200 students, including 100 females and 100 males, The study is a tool of self-confidence to prepare Scale (Shroger: 1990) and the measure of achievement motivation of preparation (Ghamdi: 2009), analyzed The data by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences program (spss), where the study concluded set of results including: Characterized by self students defaulters decline of confidence, There is a relationship between self confidence and achievement motivation for students defaulters, there are differences in self-esteem and academic achievement motivation attributed to type in favor of males, the researcher also developed based on the results of some of the recommendations and proposals for future research, Among these recommendations: early detection of troubled students and work to increase self-confidence and motivation to strengthen their confidence, work to pay attention to students defaulters especially females and enhance the chances of success by reducing the failure rate to help them specialties that fit the mental and personal abilities.
