Abstract EN

The present work aims mainly to study the effects of the beta adrenergic agonist clenbuterol (Cl) as a growth promoter on heart weight in avian 48 broiler chicks.

A significant increase was recorded in heart weight, histologically proved to be hypertrophy accompanied with inflammation endocarditis.

The antioxidant activity study revealed a significant increase of lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH) and malon dialdyhide (MDA.

.On contrary a significant decrease in reduced glutathione (GSH) and super oxide dismutase (SOD) was recorded in clenbuterol administered groups
