Abstract EN

The subject of economic policy occupies wide interest of economists, politicians and also in the media, because it reflects the main framework that determines the kind of a given state policy in carrying on economic objectives.

In this way, economic policy makers face many challenges in the process of economic policy making that affect the effectiveness of the policy, which is related also to the way that economic policy is directed, either to stimulate aggregate demand or to develop aggregate supply.

Algeria choosed to implement a demand-side economic policy since 2001 which affected the economic activity positively in a comparison to the previous decade, but it didn’t lead to a long run of economic prosperity because the main problem of the Algerian economy is the weakness of the supply-side rather the decrease in the demand-side.
