English Abstract

There is no doubt that the good design the base of each work whatever this work contains a professional technical skill performance* this depends on the ability of the designer creativity, the Islamic decoration considered a manifestation of this creativity, the Muslim artist has followed steps to create advanced decoration, simplification and modification of the old decorations allowed him to create his own decorative elements that acceptable by the Islamic religion.

The decoration is an important element in the design of furniture, where they often create an Islamic manifestation to the furniture that give it aesthetic value of the furniture and distinctive character, the Islamic heritage elements could be used to create a modem style for design furniture fit the developments of this time.

From here the search submit a descriptive analysis study determine Islamic decoration as a source of modem furniture pieces design, and achieved another goal of the study is to leam the art of Islamic ornamentation to be a source of furniture design, help the researchers for new studies in this field.

This will be achieved through the following points: 1.

The definition of Islamic decoration ; 2.

analysis of samples of mant styles of Islamic Decorations ; 3.

Description of some models of furniture in the local market in Gaza City ; 4.

Application of the analysis decorations at furniture pieces ; 5.

Conclusions ; 6.

recommendations ; 7.
