This study aimed to identify the level of organizational commitment and detect the leadership patterns prevailing among the Palestinian ministries.

It also seeks to investigate the impact of job satisfaction as a mediator variable in the relationship between the leadership patterns and organizational commitment.

To achieve these objectives, a descriptive analytical approach was used and a questionnaire was designed as a main tool for collecting the necessary data.

The study sample consisted of (356) participants who were chosen by using simple random sample from the entire population (4838) with the response rate (84.

35%) .

The study concluded that respondents’ perceptions towards the level of organizational commitment were moderate with (mean =3.42) , and the pattern of leadership prevailing in the Palestinian ministries was the transformational leadership pattern (4.23) followed by the transactional leadership style (4.20) .

The results showed there is no direct relationship between both leadership patterns and organizational commitment.

Moreover, the study revealed that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment, and not mediate the relationship between the transactional leadership style and organizational commitment.

Some recommendations were proposed to improve the level of organizational commitment through increasing employees' job satisfaction and encouraging the managers to adopt the modern leadership patterns especially transformational style, and design a new system of compensation to raise the wages and salaries of the employees.
