This study aimed to identify the role of Al Aqsa University in enhancing the values of tolerance as perceived by its students and faculty members in the faculty of Education.

To achieve the aim of the study, the researchers conducted a study on a sample of (320) students and (40) faculty members of the faculty of Education at Al-Aqsa University.

The researchers used two questionnaires about the role of higher education in promoting the values of tolerance.

The data were processed using statistical means and percentages, analysis of variance and bilateral (LSD) test of post comparisons between means.

Results of the study showed that the total score for the role of Al-Aqsa University in the promotion of tolerance values as perceived by the subjects was (3.22), with a standard deviation of (0.54) and a relative weight of (64.5%), and as perceived by faculty members was (3.18), standard deviation of (0.54) and a relative weight of (63.6 %).

The results also showed that there were no differences in the role of Al-Aqsa University in promoting the values of tolerance attributable to the variables of sex, political affiliation, and there was no statistically significant effect of bilateral interactions between gender and political affiliation of the students.

There were no differences in the role of Al-Aqsa University in promoting tolerance attributable to sex of the faculty members, while there were differences due to years of service in favor of those who have more than 11 years.

Besides, there was no statistically significant impact of bilateral interactions between sex and years of service among faculty members.
