Abstract EN

This study came to shed light on the Five Necessities by Imam Al-Jouini, which represents the synopsis of his thought in relation to purposes.

This study has revealed the contribution of imam Al-Jouini in the field of the sharee’ah purposes, highlighted his role in clarifying how to maintain the five Necessities and the means of protecting them.

He was considered the first scholar to divide the purposes of Sharee’ah into three: (necessities, needs, and improvements).

He was a pioneer in establishing the foundations for this science.

The study showed how Al-Jouini used a lot of words and expressive terms to refer to shareeah purposes like: meaning, wisdom, interests, sharee’ah needs, sharee’ah purposes, and Necessities.

The study followed the inductive and analytical method to study the purposes as handled by Al-Jouini in some of his books related to that.

The study included: an introduction about the reasons of choosing this subject, the goals of the study, previous studies, the methodology that has been followed, the plan, and a general introduction of imam AL-Jouini, showing his role in dividing the foundations of Sharee’ah into five sections, and showing how the five Necessities can be protected as suggested by Imam Al-Jouini.

The study ended with a conclusion.
