Abstract EN
The present work investigates the development of a steam jet ejector through the nozzle geometry affect on the efficiency and performance of steam jet ejector, the efficiency of steam ejector as pump and as feed heater has been thoroughly studied with variable pressures and temperatures for different nozzle diameters (2, 3, 4, 5, 6 mm).
The system that has been built consists of boiler, feed water tank with feed pump, suction and delivery tank, and ejector.
The results show that the efficiency of ejector as pump will increase, while the efficiency as a feed water heater decreases if the steam mass flow rate or steam pressure increases.
Also, the ejector efficiency will rise up for smaller nozzle inlet diameter, and the best performance was obtained at 4.5 bar steam pressure with 0.133 kg/s steam mass flow rate for 2 mm nozzle inside diameter.
