Abstract EN

This study focuses on identifying the role of the applications of comprehensive quality standards in improving the academic performance of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences from the viewpoints of the members of the Academic Board.

This is highlighted through four themes: senior management, members of the Academic Board, students, buildings, facilities and services.

Problem of the Study : The present study addresses the following main question : -What is the role of the applications of comprehensive quality standards in improving the academic performance from the perspective of the members of the Academic Board ? Questions of the Study : Based upon the main question, the following peripheral questions were derived: First Question : Are there statistically significant differences in the response of the study sample on the four themes of the study (senior management, members of the academic board, students, buildings and facilities and services) attributed to the characteristics of the demographic study sample ? Second Question: What is the role of the application of comprehensive quality standards by the senior management in improving the academic performance at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences as seen by the members of the Academic Board ? Third question: What is the role of the application of comprehensive quality standards by the members of the Academic Board in improving the academic performance at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences as seen by the members of the Academic Board ? Fourth Question: What is the role of the application of comprehensive quality standards by the students in improving the academic performance at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences as seen by the members of the Academic Board ? Objectives of the Study : The study aims to achieve the following objectives: 1-To identify the differences in the response of the study sample on the four themes of the study (senior management, Academic Board, students, buildings and facilities and services) attributed to the characteristics of the demographic study sample.

2-To identify the role of the application of the comprehensive quality standards by the senior management in improving the academic performance at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences as seen by members of the Academic Board.

Methodology of the Study : This study uses the descriptive approach since that it fits the subject and objectives of the study.

The study sample consists of all the members of the Academic Board at the university, their number amounted to (102) applicants for a full time of teaching.

(58) responses were obtained and the rest were excluded for being incomplete.

Closed-ended questionnaire is used as a tool for collecting data from the study sample.

Honesty and stability were found in the expressions and themes of the questionnaire, it was also proven valid in compliance with the academic standards “rationing” to collect data.

After the data was collected they were analyzed at the Information Technology Center at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.

The study offered a number of findings.

The most prominent are as follow : 1-The applications of the comprehensive quality standards have a positive role in improving the academic performance at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences; 2-The applications of the comprehensive quality standards by the senior management have a positive role; 3-The applications of the comprehensive quality standards have a positive role on the performance of the members of the Academic Board; 4-The applications of quality standards on students have a positive role; and 5-The applications of quality standards on buildings and facilities have a positive role.

Recommendations of the Study : Based upon the above, the study presented the following recommendations for the purpose of improvement : 1-Quality should continue to be a daily work in all sectors of the university ; 2-The culture of comprehensive quality should be disseminated among all employees of the university on a continuous basis according to specified mechanisms; and 3-Workshops in the field of comprehensive quality should be intensified for all employees of the university according to their specialties.

Suggestions of the Study : Further studies should be conducted in the field of applications according to the quality and academic accreditation standards in the university.

In addition, such studies should be compared with identical standards conducted in other universities.
