English Abstract

Diabetes is a common and globally spread disease.

Almost every family has a diabetic patient and most people are familiar with this disease.

It is dangerous-long-term complications that may lead to death.

No cure has been found for diabetes.

Diabetes patients need to manage their disease by monitoring their blood glucose levels frequently in order to stay healthy and to live a relatively normal life.

In recent years, there has been a great demand for the use of the noninvasive techniques for detecting glucose concentration without extracting any blood sample from the patient.

Noninvasive techniques allow diabetes patients to monitor the glucose level in blood frequently in an easy and painless way which in turn will improve the quality of their lives and reduce costs and burden of diabetes treatment.

In this work, Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is used in noninvasive technology for quantitative analysis to measure the blood glucose concentration.

This thesis uses a new method that has a lot of attention which is the Independent Component Regression (ICR) based on Blind Source Separation (BSS).

The optimization process is done by combining ICR and preprocessing techniques with no prior information available regarding the spectra.

The results show an improvement of the capability of proposed models to predict the glucose concentration from aqueous solution with high clinical accuracy
