English Abstract

In the wireless communication system, the most modern and attractive technique is to combine the Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MCCDMA) with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique.

Adaptive modulation is a technique that is used to improve the spectral efficiency for both OFDM and MC-CDMA.

OFDM achieves high spectral efficiency in broadband wireless communications, and MC-CDMA is good for achieving frequency diversity when there is no channel state information.

This work merges both MC-CDMA and OFDM techniques to support high data rate and high-speed wireless communication.

Also, it overcomes the problem of Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and noise which occurs when the number of users and data in the network increases which in turn will degrade the performance of the system.

The main function of adaptive modulation is estimating and sensing the status of the channel and choosing appropriate modulation estimation.

This work applies the adaptive modulation based on the type of channel, type of modulation, the status of the channel, how to deal with data and how to apply modulation/demodulation.

In this thesis, the performance analysis of the Adaptive modulation based on MC-CDMA system with OFDM analyzes the BER performance for Rayleigh and Rician fading channel conditions for MC-CDMA and OFDM in the presence of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) using Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK), Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK), and M-QAM modulation.

These modulation schemes give better spectral efficiency using Minimum mean-squareerror (MMSE) channels estimation and 2 Least-Square (LS) Estimator.

The performance analysis is done using MATLAB based on Monte Carlo simulator.
