This research deals with the conceptual attempt to resolve the problematic relation between the definition of this art and its term, through the historical introduction of the term, and the definition of the concept and characteristics, the indication of the types of folk literature, and the relationship between the terms vernacular literature, and folk literature

Ce travail, portant sur l'aspect conceptuel, est une tentative de recherche qui opte à résoudre la problématique liée à la définition de la littérature populaire et ses concepts à travers une introduction historique du terme.
Il s'agit aussi de définir cette littérature, de déterminer ses caractéristiques et de montrer les types de la littérature populaire.
Cette tentative veut, en outre, éclairer l'emploi des deux termes ; literature vernaculaire et celle de littérature populaire
