Abstract EN

The oral theory was concerned in its examination of the preIslamic poetry and popular Nabati poetry with the oral traditions by which the poem is produced and circulated between the creator and the recipient, taking into consideration the historical, social and cultural circumstances, which stamped the process of production and deliberation.

On the basis of the similarity between the pre-Islamic poem and modern Algerian folk poem, we shall try to apply some of the arguments of this theory to a pre-Islamic poem and an Algerian folk poem to see the validity of the application of this approach on these two poems, and at the same time, we shall try to identify commonalities between folk poetry and pre-Islamic poetry
