The process of investigation and documentation of the text is no less important and valuable than the production process and the formation of the text, if not more important, more costing and more tiring than it.

This is because the investigator of the text attends a thoughtful, mined and barbed land, which is buried in the dust of history, and shows its fees as the effects of the study or the like.

This research aims to shed light on the methodological mechanisms followed to document the Algerian folk poetry, and the main problems faced by the researcher in this field, with a brief overview of some practical realistic examples.
