Abstract EN

This study seeks to examine the debate about the extent to which globalization neuralizes the geography variable in Post-Cold War international politics, and then the geopolitical analysis of international politics phenomena.

Globalization thesis claims the end of the state, borders and sovereignty in their relation to geography.

Therefore, geography is no more treated as a pivotal factor in states’ geostrategies towards international issues, due to economic, social, cultural and information flows and due to space-time shrinking.

Contextually, this study attempts to examine the various debates about the credibility and objectivity of globalization thesis which argues for a less role for geography and geopolitics in post- Cold War international politics? Therefore, it questions the academic transcendence of such a thesis.

Next, it seeks to examine the assumptions of globalization and the essence of its alternatives instead of the end of geography hypothesis.

In order to do so, the study relies on critical geopolitics as an analytical alternative to traditional geopolitics.Lastly, it concludes that geography remains a determining factor in any geostrategic arrangements to achieve and protect states’ interests, without dismissing other factors and contradictions created by globalization.
