Abstract EN

Libya delayed for joining the Islamic banking, which started in 2009.

This imposes a heavy responsibility on officials in order to accelerate the process of transferring and reducing the time needed.

Accordingly, the paper aims to identify the main challenges facing the Islamic banking business in terms of its developmental role.

In order to achieve this goal, the paper is divided into two sections, the first intake the challenges in terms of the internal level for banks (legal and legitimate framework), also in terms of the allocated amounts to the financing and prevailing financial derivatives, while the second dealt with the prospects of developing the banking business.

A brief overview about the reality of Islamic banking in Libya was preceded in the beginning.
