English Abstract

This study aims at discussing the national trademark registration by comparing the Jordanian and Libyan laws, analyzing the legal provisions in both legislations to clarify how both legislators regulate the trademarks, and the rules the legislators developed for trademark registration and the authorities of Trademarks Registry in both legislations.

This is in addition to how trademark registration can affect the legal protection of trademarks.

By reviewing the legal provision, this study showed that the Jordanian legislator was more organized in the most trademarks registration than Libyan's.

The Libyan's provisions lack much of the structure of the registration process.

The researcher recommends amending the legal provisions for governing the trademarks in Libya, and reformulating it in a special law for such trademarks, which can regulate provisions with respect to trademarks.
