Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the level of the undergraduate student use for the social networks, the motivations, and the gratifications obtained for them through their use for the social networks.

And research into the possibility of the existence of differences due to the variables of sex and marital status .

To identic that, the researcher has applied a questionnaire upon a sample consists of (322) of Yemeni students.

The results have shown that the average of the number of hours they spent in face book site is approximately (2.20) every day.

The cognitive motives are the highest motivations that led undergraduate student to use Facebook, followed by social and psychological motives, and the cognitive gratifications came first, then the psychological and social gratifications, the results also showed a meaningful correlation between the level of use and cognitive gratifications only, also showed the existence of differences in on the level of use social motivations in favor of males.

While the differences in the social gratifications in favor of females, and the differences in cognitive motivations and social motivations in favor of singles.
