Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying and discovering the reasons of predicting divinations from university students’ view point in the light of some variables such as gender, academic specialty, place of residence.

A questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data from a (300) sample of students in Hashemite University including all academic programs and all academic levels The study results showed that : -The social causes are the main and strongest ones that cause or lead to the practice of divination.

Physiological causes followed, then economical and finally came the political ones.

There were no significant differences related to sex and place of residence variables on predicting divination except of academic specialty variable where humanity programs students show more willingness to practice divination than scientific programs students.
