Abstract EN

This text is an attempt to explain a phenomenon observed in my research field: the Kasbah of Algiers.

This is the extensive use of the collective memory of the Battle of Algiers between the inhabitants of the Kasbah.

Drawing on my previous fieldwork, I will attempt to explain, through an analysis of particular pragmatic and conversational speech, what role does the collective memory of the war of liberation and specifically that of the Battle of Algiers in the construction of the casbadjie identity.

Between macro and micro- collective memory between urbanity and urban, between "true" and "false" casbadjis, it is always the collective memory that defines groups and categories relative to their authenticity and called from their urbanity.

This is a sociolinguistic study of discursive practices around the representation of war memory.
