Abstract EN

This research aims at finding out general characteristics of linguistic communication and social interaction skills among African communities in some areas in Sudan, also finding out correlation between the two variables, as well as the differences in linguistic communication skills among African communities attributed to variables of (gender, country of origin and length of stay).

A total of 420 respondents (220males, 200 females), aged between (27- 46) are selected via random sample method, Statistical methods e.g.

Pearson coefficient, (T), Man-Whitney test and Analysis of Variance, are used to analyze such collected data.

The research therefore reaches that; in some areas of Sudan, African communities have moderated linguistic communication and high social interaction skills.

In addition, there was a correlation between linguistic communication and social interaction skills.

In conclusion, the research recommends that: presence of African communities, especially males, Arabic language institutions for non-native speakers to acquire linguistic communication skills in Khartoum state is a prerequisite.
