Abstract EN

This study treats the position of Arabic language in Nigeria's universities, also challenges it faces since early time to present-day.

However, Arabic language has its roots, heritage and history in Nigeria, prior arriving and discovery of Nigeria by British colonists, it‘s pillars has elongated from the sixth generation after Hijra to the present generation and it continues to span wide, The first foremost universities to start studying Arabic include University of Ibadan and that of Bayero University, and after these Universities other Universities both federal and state universities started Arabic language.

This Article wants to shade light about the movement of Arabic language in the Nigerian universities especially in Kaduna State university by stopping at the important corners in which Arabic language is passing through in this very university and the problems which is facing inside and outside the department of Arabic including the G.S.T course that is required in the university and the solution to these problems, in addition to this with the prediction of its future in the university.

Uses descriptive- analytical method.

The study reaches that: Arabic language occupies a central position in Nigeria's federal universities.

In Kaduna state university Arabic language became key competent language.

Finally, there is increasing on student's number relatively 52% who choose Arabic as an education language.
