Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the reality and problems of assessment and diagnosis of deaf and hard of hearing students in institutions and special education programs from the point of view of specialists and teachers.

The two researchers adopted the descriptive approach.

The study was based on a questionnaire consisting of two parts: gender, specialization, qualification, nature of work, years of experience, training courses, educational location and type of program.

The second part consists of : the reality of assessment and diagnosis of deaf and hearing students, and the problems of diagnosing Deaf and Deaf students, including physical, administrative and human problems.

The questionnaire included two copies: for the deaf and the hearing impaired.

The study sample included all specialists and teachers of the deaf and the hard of hearing in special education institutions and programs in public schools in the primary school in Riyadh (300).

The results of the study showed that respondents agree that the reality of assessment and diagnosis of deaf and hearing impaired has professional, environmental and ethical aspects to improve the quality of diagnostic services provided.

The results of the study showed that specialists and teachers agree on the absence of material problems, and the results also showed their agreement to the existence of some administrative and human problems.
