English Abstract

This research focuses on the conflicts over the Aachaemenid throne (559-330 B.C) and the political strife for the rise of some persons to that throne other than the others.

There are legitimate bases that must be available in the person nominated for the royal throne.

However, pragmatism was the motivation behind the rise of some people to the throne without these legitamate bases.

This research also deals with the powerful parties and persons such as the wives of the king, the eunuchs, the court men and all who are close to the king.

Their role in supporting some people to ascend to the throne and the consequences of their conflict are all discussed thoroughly.
