Introduction : The Eagle syndrome is a rare and controversial entity.
It is characterized by a long styloid apophyse which create irritation of neighbouring structures.
Aim : Evoke the syndrome of Eagle in front of a cervicalgia and remind its characteristics.
Patients and methods: We report 5 cases of Eagle's syndrome (age: between 46 and 60 years).
Results: only one patient has a history of tonsillectomy.
The duration of painful symptoms varied between 18 months and 10 years.
The scan showed a long styloid apophyse in 2 cases and ossification of the stylohyoid ligament in the other 3 cases.
All patients had resection of calcified process by external way .
The evolution was good with disappearance of the painful symptoms.
Conclusion: Eagle syndrome is a source of cervicofacial pain of difficult diagnosis.
This diagnosis is based on clinical and radiological arguments .The treatment is surgical.

Introduction : Le syndrome d’Eagle est une entité rare et controversée.
Il est caractérisé par une apophyse styloïde longue à l’origine d’une irritation des structures avoisinantes.
But : évoquer le syndrome d’Eagle devant une cervicalgie et rappeler ses caractéristiques.
Patients et méthodes : nous rapportons 5 cas du syndrome d’Eagle (âge: entre 46 et 60 ans).
Résultats : un seul patient avait un antécédent d’amygdalectomie.
La durée d’évolution de la symptomatologie douloureuse était entre 18 mois et 10 ans.
Le scanner a montré une apophyse styloïde longue dans 2 cas et une ossification du ligament stylo-hyoïdien dans 3 cas.
Tous les patients ont eu une résection du processus calcifié par voie externe.
L’évolution était bonne par disparition de la symptomatologie.
Conclusion : le syndrome d’Eagle est une source de douleur cervico-faciale de diagnostic difficile.
Ce diagnostic repose sur des arguments cliniques et radiologiques.
Le traitement est chirurgical.
