Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to perform the morphometric evolution of the Pastura valley basin.

This basin is located in the north of Erbil city.

Drainage water of this valley basins coming from south west limb of Safin, Permamm mountains and north limb of Khan Zad mountains and flow to the Greater Zab river in the east.

This study used SRTM image and both Arc Gis software and river tools for the gmorphometric analyzing of valley basin case study.

Some morphometric indices (e.g.g) (basin asymmetry factor (AF) stream – gradient index (SL), mountain front sinuosity (Smf) and Valley floor width to valley height ratio (VF) were used to understand the relationship between drainage pattern and lithology of rocks.

The result of this study show the adjustment and impact of drainage pattern of the valley to the lithology of rock.
