Abstract EN

This essay represents an exceptional attempt to discuss the biography of Franz von Baader who refuted the Cartesian Cogito and abolished its logical effects.

Nonetheless, his philosophy did not take its actual course in Western modernity, and the reason might be the radical nature of Baader’s criticism of the values in modernism-especially its worldly and atheistic aspect.

The distinctive feature in Baader’s personality might be his establishment of a system to understand existence in a way which differs from the forefathers of modern philosophy.

In his reply to the Cartesian Cogito “I think therefore I am”, he says: “I am thought (by God); therefore I think and I am”.
