Algerian legislature has authorized, under the article 205 of the ordinance 95-07 relating the insurance of insurance companies to provide insurance productions directly or through intermediaries of whom the general insurance agent.This latter proceeds under his nomination contract, to the offer and distribution of insurance policies provided by the company he represents in public relying in implementing this function on his professional and technical experience in the field of insurance and therefore, he is responsible for the conclusion, amendment and renewal of insurance policies in the name and on behalf of this company.In addition, the general insurance agent ensures in representation of the company, the administration and management of these insurance policies by receiving the insurance premium, compensations payment, and the settlement of conflicts and to institute subrogation actions in certain fields of insurance.
