Abstract EN

The purpose of the research is to find out the ways and means used to deal with unemployment and reduce the social, economic and security risks in society.

Therefore, the concept of unemployment has been identified and the reasons for its spread and persistence.

It also requires presenting the social, economic and security effects resulting from unemployment in society.

(2003 - 2016).

The statistics show that the unemployment rate in 2003 was (28.10%) while 57% was unemployed in 2016, as well as the percentage of unemployment, STATISTICS Unemployment on a flat Governorates.

It was found that Dhi Qar governorate tops the other governorates with 30.01% for both sexes, males (46.93%), females (28.22%), Muthanna Governorate, Nineveh and Salahuddin governorates.

(11.77%) for both sexes.

The percentage of males (10.18%) and females (17.14%) was the lowest in the governorates of Anbar, Ninewa and Diyala.

In spite of the inverse relation between unemployment and the scientific level, it was found to be high among the holders of bachelor's degrees, with 16.1% representing females (23.5%) and (13.1%) males, which is higher than the general average and compared with the unemployment rate for those without a certificate (16.4%) for both sexes were females (14.6%) and males (17%) for the year (2016) while the lowest rates were for the doctoral campaign.

As well as the number of underemployment numbers are still large and influential in Iraqi society.

Some conclusions have been reached and appropriate recommendations have been made which are necessary to reduce unemployment in Iraq
