Abstract EN

In the course of the researcher's previous paper, the Syriac Doubled Verb, Its Reality and meanings, a relation between the Syriac doubled and mid-vowel verbs appeared on two levels, the level of form and the level of semantic.

Consequently, the researcher determined to study the two types of verbs in the Syriac language to understand the reasons behind this formal and semantic approximation and to conclude the most important results the research attain to.

The researcher depended on the use of the morphological, syntactic and phonological studies in addition to the lexical study, hopping to present a paper that may add something to the Syriac library, cover the research subject matter and introduce the Syriac doubled and midvowel verbs to the scholars and the interested people.

The present paper includes introducing the Syriac mid-vowel verb, its categories and the Arabic mid-vowel verb in brief in order to present a comprehensive idea about the Syriac verb compared to the Arabic one.

Afterward, the Syriac mid-vowel verb is conjugated with the subject pronouns; present participle, past participle, and infinitive are derived from it in order to understand the verb morphological cases and the most important changes that may occur.

The formal (auricular) relation between the doubled and mid-vowel verbs will be discussed.

The present research will not discuss the doubled verb as it had been discussed previously, rather it will be only introduced.

A list of the Syriac mid-vowel and doubled verbs which are used in the Gospel is done.

Finally, the semantic approximation between the two categories will follow in order to know its reality and the reasons led to it, and a conclusion of the most important results of the paper are presented.
