Abstract EN

The Research aims to study how to revive the role of WAQF and how it contributes to fund education throughout the Islamic history, with reference to the most important contemporary applications in Jordan and what are the economic effects of this funding.

The analytical descriptive approach has been adopted through a review of aspects of WAQF spending on education, and analyzing the main economic effects of the spending The research concluded that it is possible to revive the socio-economic role of WAQF, including education funding, where this funding has positive effects in the redistribution of income and wealth, and in achieving economic development, and reducing the public budget deficit.

It also recommends the need for a suitable condition that fits the growth of Islamic WAQF by sensitizing the various educational and media institutions to members of the Muslim community of the importance of the role of the WAQF, especially in the field of education, which contributes significantly to the contribution of Muslims to human civilization and development
