Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the problems facing private kindergartens as perceived by principals and teachers in the north region educational directorates.

The population of the study consisted of 60 female principals and 150 teachers working in private kindergartens in Bani Obied and Al-koura educational districts in the schooling year 2014-2015.

The sample of the study consisted of 50 principals and 120 teachers.

A questionnaire was developed, including eight domains: problems of managing and organizing, problems of teachers, problems of dealing with local community, problems of children, problems of the ministry of education supervision, financial problems, facilities problems and transportation problems.

The questionnaire contains 39 items and validity as we as reliability were calculated.

The findings of the study showed that the most prevalent problems facing principals and teachers are the training needs on kindergarten educational programs, the lack of conditioning in the buses, the low numbers of children, the low wages and salaries, the scarce of yards and play squares, the scarce of buses, the weak supervision of the ministry of education.

Moreover, there were significant statistical differences between the means of principals and teachers evaluation for the problems in favor of teachers.
