Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the degree of Al-Balqa applied university staff’s e-learning capabilities from their perspective.

To achieve the study objectives, the researchers prepared a questionnaire of 40 items, including three scales: computer capabilities scale, capabilities of using the internet and networks, and the e-learning culture scale.

After verifying the instruments of reliability and validity, the researchers distributed it to a sample of 100 faculty of the colleges of al-balqa' applied university in the north region (Huson, Irbid, and Ajlun), who were randomly chosen.

The result of the statistical data analysis indicated a moderate level of capabilities for the faculties in the Jordanian universities regarding e-learning (computer capabilities scale, capabilities of using the internet and networks, and the e-learning culture).

The results also showed that there are not statistically significant differences at (a=0.05) for the sample means responses regarding the study scales about the e-learning capabilities of al-balqa applied university staff due to college, years of teaching, and qualification.

The researchers recommended that the universities must take e-learning demands into consideration when choosing faculties.
