Abstract EN

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the quality of life among mothers and their children’s behavioral problems.

The study tries also to examine whether this relationship is affected by these variables: mother’s age, her job and her academic level.

The descriptive method was used in order to achieve the study objectives.

A questionnaire about mother’s quality of life and children’s behavioral problems scale (adapted on the Algerian environment) were applied to a sample of 165 pupils (males and females) studying at primary schools in Sidi Bel Abbas (Algeria), aged between 10 and 13 besides their mothers (in total 330 persons).

The study revealed that the majority of mothers obtained higher scores in quality of life while the majority of their children got lower scores in behavioral problems.

Furthermore, there was a negative statistically significant correlation between the children’s scores in behavioral problems and their mother’s scores in quality of life.

In addition, this relationship between children’s behavioral problems and their mother’s quality of life was not affected by their mother's age, job and academic level variables.

Finally, it was concluded that the power of the relationship between the children’s behavioral problems and their mother's quality of life did not vary according to the dimensions of quality of life.
