Abstract EN

This study was conducted with psychiatric and mental health physicians at MehmmoudBelamriPsychiatric Hospital, located in the State of Constantine, Algeria, to find out how ready the physiciansare to adopt bibliotherapy.

The researchersused the case study methodology applying both the interview and the questionnaire to collect the data.

The resultsof the research revealed that the most physicians possess the academic qualifications and knowledge base to apply this therapeutic approach with its scientific steps in the future as they are aware of the usefulness of bibliotherapy in achieving the psychological well-being of literate patients.

Howeverphysicians complained about some of thedefects that prevent the successful application of the therapeutic process.

They emphasized the need to provide many infrastructure elements and to pay attention to the hospital library and equipping it with various reading materials that correspond to the reading tendencies of the patients, and to assign a specialized and qualified librarian to participate and assist the physicians in the application of the therapeutic process.
