Abstract EN

This research represents the opinion of the philosopher Hans George Gadamer about The object of Translation.

This opinion is not outside his Hermeneutic theory; where he joins the Translation process to the chain of the performance arts, which are in fact doubling Hermeneutic activities.

The translation involves a first interpretation that the translator makes during the reading of the original text, and a second translation during "revealing" this interpretation in another language.

So the Interpretation was a structural thing in the translation not only a permanent process as it was thought to be.

And it is clear that this view is far from the view of linguistics which sees translation as a parallelism in utterance as well as in meaning.

In opposite to this, we can reveal a hidden approximation to the concept of translation in between Gadamer’s approach and the approach of “translation studies” (which is one of the recent branches of the comparative literature) to it.

Hence, it was useful –when discussing Gadamer’s views -to treat those domains that are also interested in translation, and this in order to put Gadamer’s views in front of the other theories, and then to discover his authenticity.
