Abstract EN

Spinstership is one of the social problems prevailing in most societies and in the families that make the core structure of the society.

This phenomenon is quickly increasing due to the changing conditions in these societies that highly affects the females ( over 30 years old) and causes them to be spinsters.

The study aims at analyzing the demographic, social and economic features of spinsters in AL- Zubair by using the geographical approach which is based on description and analysis .

Both the analytic - descriptive and the surveying approaches are employed to investigate this phenomenon.

Because of the lack of related official data, a questionnaire was distributed to (600) respondents.

Only (527) of the responses were used as samples of the study .

(73) responses were neglected because they were either incomplete or were not filled by the respondents.
