Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to explore the different linguistic uses of “La seyyama” in Arabic as it has been a debatable issue among grammarians.

The researcher has explored some of the grammarians’ views about it .Some have considered it as a linguistic means of making exception like “ella”& others.

Other grammarians have seen it functioning as a comparative degree case, as well as a means of generic negation.

It is worth mentioning that all the considered views have their justifications.

The study concluded that all the different views have not tackled a linguistic use which has been observed by the researcher which is making specific (Limiting) and he provided examples for justification
