Abstract EN
Protection of workers from occupational diseases and injuries is one of the tasks assigned to the International Labor Organization (ILO).
Since its inception, the ILO has been concerned with developing ways to protect the worker to cover wider coverage of the fundamental objectives enshrined in its Constitution and the Declaration of Philadelphia.
The decisions of the 1984 International Labor Conference on improving working conditions and the environment were formulated .
The development of international standards in the form of conventions and recommendations is one of the main tasks of the ILO.
These standards, adopted by the Organization, cover labor and social issues.
As an integrated group, they constitute the International Labor Code, which sets minimum standards in the areas of employment and the social sphere.
Between 1919 and 2008, 188 conventions and 199 recommendations were adopted.
Approximately 50% of them are related to occupational safety and health.
These include the protection against occupational radiation
